So, I'm in NYC, and I don't know why it's so much harder to get anything done while here, but I find my days are so much less productive than in Spain.
It's not helped that the flight seems to have reawakened my cold, so I'm fluey and all achey.
Also not helped is the intermittant wifi signal from the neighbors (today there must be an office nearby that wasn't available over the weekend, when I had to resort to once again standing atop the toilet to get the signal that comes through the little bathroom window).
Also, been dealing with a lot of family stuff (took grandmother to the doctor this afternoon, for instance) which is in large part why I'm here, though, so rather than thinking that's getting in the way of my getting anything else done I need to remember that that is what I'm here to get done.
I did also manage to get the paperwork process started this morning, although it turned out my driver's license alone wasn't enough so I had to go home and get my passport and then schlepp back down to city hall and wait on line all over again. But I should be able to pick it up just before I leave, with time enough to get it duly notarized and an apostille seal, so it will be valid overseas.
Tomorrow, after voting, I'll be out on Long Island all day for my mother's birthday. So again, I need to remember that, although I may want to get other things done as well, this is what I came here to do, and the reality is that I can't do both at the same time.
If I have time leftover, I can try and finish up the work-related stuff.
(I am soooooo close to being able to finish something, and it will be a major relief when I do, but it's still not quite ready, alas. But soon!)
